Burberry has added another member to the My Burberry family. We have My Burberry, which is a lovely soft floral, My Burberry Black (reviewed here), which is a richer oriental take on the original. Either one is perfect for whatever mood might strike you, and both are the work of the divine Francis Kurkdjian (here and here). I adore his creations, and the way they dance on the skin is part of his unique signature. So when I heard he had created a new Burberry perfume, I was all ears. Hm, maybe more like all nose?

My Burberry Blush is definitely a fruity floral. Like, more fruity than floral, as well as a gorgeous skin scent with hints of the depth we found in the deeply sexy My Burberry Black. I don’t know how they did it. It is so soft & fruity – I know, I keep saying that. But I find it so compelling!

Oh my heavens, Monsieur Kurkdjian, you had me at glazed pomegranate! This is a happy fragrance, but don’t be fooled into thinking this is only a summer scent. My first reaction was “a pink fruity perfume for fall?”. Well, it seems that yes, floral fruity for fall is where it’s at. There are no woodsy base notes listed anywhere but something about the masterful blending of this keeps it warm and sexy. It’s not a fruity classic eau de cologne that we think of for warmer weather. This is a fruity perfume for sweater weather.

I can’t really explain exactly what it is I love so much about My Burberry Blush. Perhaps it’s the balance of light and dark, because even thought there is all that pretty fruit, there is a sultry dry down and dimension that only Francis Kurkdjian could create with pomegranates, lemons, apples, roses and jasmine. I have been calling My Burberry Blush “Pink Shampoo” but if you know me, that’s a good thing. I can imagine wearing it with a pink cashmere scarf, or a pink Angora sweater, or a cozy pair of pink Lazypants (my new addiction, the worlds cosiest sweatpants. Dress it up or dress it down, I think My Burberry Blush will simply go with anything. And this lovey pink perfume will be perfect for the cool fall days coming our way!
