Hey, Vichy! I’m Batting My Lashes At YOU, Baby!

I love “lash enhancing” products. That whole trend started with Latisse, and many came after. Almost every company has a lash enhancing product now. They are an actual drug formula containing a prostaglandin analogue that’s been studied and cleared by the FDA whose discovery came about as a side effect from glaucoma medication.  They can help people grow longer, thicker lashes, but it, too, has some drawbacks and some mild side effects that users should be aware of. They can be expensive, ranging in cost from $70 to $120 for a few month supply. These products can also cause eye color to turn brown and the lids to darken. Some people also experience eye redness and irritation. I started using Rapidlash after a nightmare experiment in lash extensions and losing half my lashes. My lashes grew so quickly and filled in the sad spots that were lost due to the lash extensions. I’ve used Revitalash with great results as well, but ended up going back to Rapidlash as it worked just as well, and cost less. After much trial and error I found out that I really only need to use the tiniest amount, or I do actually get red lids and red irritated eyes. But it works and it works well.

It was a miracle, and my lashes grew back thicker & better than ever! I use Rapidlash a few times a week, and have a new miracle product to accompany it. Vichy Serum 10 for Eyes & Lashes ($45 for 15 ml) – this stuff has ingredients to add youthful radiance to the delicate skin around the eyes, but it has kind of blown my mind with what it does to my lashes. I use it morning and night, after cleansing and before applying my eye cream. Lately I’ve been using Vichy ProEVEN Daily Eye Corrector for Dark Circles (review to come!) along with my Clinique Even Better Eyes and I do find I need less under eye concealer.
