My Mani Is Killin’ It In Essie For The Twill Of It

Oh, goody! Another butterfly pretty duochrome polish! I’ve become a huge fan of colour shifting pretty polishes since I feel down the rabbit hole with Chanel Le Vernis Azuré. I feel like a magpie tracking pretty sparkly things and literally can’t stop staring at my nails. Essie’s Fall 2013  collection has many lovely tempting colours, but it was Essie For The Twill Of It that caught my eye. It’s been sold out in a few places when I looked but I had success at the drugstore yesterday. Hooray! I had to bring her home with me and share her loveliness with you, beauties!

I applied two coats on top of the Revlon Gel Base Coat. I’ve heard nothing but raves about this base coat so stay tuned for my take on this cult favourite. Essie For The Twill Of It applied smoothly and gave complete coverage in two coats. I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it and want to take it off right away so I didn’t use a top coat. Still looks amazing.

The neat thing about duochrome polishes is how they shapeshift their colours, and actually look like different polishes in different lights. Essie’s website calls i ta  rich medium brown with reflective green shimmer. I suppose the purple-ish burgundy colour I see could be perceived as brown, or perhaps different skin tones might pull brown from this. But I see purple-y green and I love it! Nail polish lovers – you need this! I feel like it would suit a multitude of skin tones as well. Go get it!

These are so pretty! I don’t own a single colour shifting duochrome type polish so I think I’ll need to look into these
