I am very susceptible to the power of suggestion. So after seeing the gorgeous orange-red nail polish by Victoria Beckham everywhere on the internet, I simply had to have it. She collaborated with one of my favourite nail polish lines, Nails Inc, to create a colour duo.

From the Sephora site:

This Nails inc. collaboration with Victoria Beckham and her Victoria, Victoria Beckham collection reflects the chicest beauty launch of the year—a unique limited-edition duo of nail polishes developed to complement Victoria’s Spring/Summer 2015 fashion collection. Inspired by the feel of the collection and its subtle Japanese elements, this collection offers must-have, new season nail looks.

The Judo Red and Bamboo White nail lacquers are formulated with exclusive Stretch-To-Fit technology and bamboo extract, infused with silica—all within a sleek bottle. The Judo Red is a vibrant tomato shade while Bamboo White is a bone shade—created in-line with key pieces from the Victoria, Victoria Beckham collection. Designed by Fabien Baron and Victoria Beckham, each bottle comes in matte black and matte white, and is created with fine Venetian glass, and is hand-frosted to leave a subtle reveal window.

So it wasn’t JUST the shade. It was the bottle, and the cachet of the limited edition release. Also, the packaging. I normally hate oversized wasteful packaging, but in this case, I caved. I am also using the box for perfume sample storage, so there is that. I’ve tried to convince myself that Nails Inc Whitehall would work as a dupe because it is so close. I’m really trying people, but the siren call of “They are not the same, they are similar” is relentless. You feel me, there, right?

Still thinking I might need Bamboo White, unless it’s sold out. Which is probably the case. I am a giant fan of this Nails Inc line – is it still the Nail Kale? I don’t know but I love the brush, which covers the entire nail in one swipe. The formula is perfect, self-levelling and impossibly shiny. It is a perfect orange-red shade that makes me think of the rich and luscious Chinese reds one sees in decor. Simply beautiful! I never thought I would wear orange polish, but this shade is so perfect and flattering, how could I not?

The Victoria Beckham Nails Inc shades are available at Sephora, in-store and online.
