Oh CHANEL, you’ve done it again. You released a stunning dark purple polish for Spring 2016, and now for Summer 2016, it’s khaki greens, with tones of orange and gold. Unexpected but oh so welcome! CHANEL’s Summer 2016 makeup collection is called Dans La Lumière de l’Été, which means approximately “in the light of summer”, which sounds perfect to me, as summer is my favourite season.
And not only that, but I finally got the chance to try the new CHANEL polish formulas. And I couldn’t be more impressed! They are gel polish, thick, self-leveling, almost opaque in one coat, and drying quickly. Wear is impressive as well. I cannot wait to put together a look with these beauties!
And of course, a special summer edition of Les Beiges Healthy Glow powder! I’ve been a fan of Les Beiges since they were launched, and I love all the products they add to the line. This Limited Edition Healthy Glow Duo in 02 captures perfectly the glow in our cheeks on a hot summer day.
And the eyeshadow quad! How stunning are these vevlety shimmery shades! I cannot wait to get my golden glow on. These shades will be perfect with my hazel eyes, and would also be gorgeous with brown eyes! I also love seeing a touch of green eye makeup with blue eyes as well – it adds drama!
The forest green shade of CHANEL Le Stylo Yeux in Oasis is simple gorgeous and waterproof of course! As is the mascara, which is the wonderful and well loved Le Volume formula, and this summer it is a luxurious brown shade, perfect for lightening and softening any makeup look. The Summer 2016 Glossimer I received is a gorgeous golden coral shade with flecks of gold. I believe the glossimer formula and brush have been updated, as the gloss has zero stickiness and a silky moisturizing feel that is simply perfect. They have a lighter and more watery consistency which feels lovely on the lips.
All in all, a gorgeous collection, and the pieces I’ve been able to try were perfection! Available at The Bay May 29th, 2016, and on all CHANEL counters June 14th, 2016.
