A month of using Lise Watier Sublimessence twice a day has made positive changes in the condition of my skin. It feels smooth, has a gentle glow and feels fresh. I’ve been using less concealer and powdered foundation than usual. I love how my skin feels immediately after applying it. It imparts an instant dewy glow that makes me feel like I had the best night’s sleep ever.
As we approach fifty, our skin changes. Our skin becomes rougher, less elastic, more transparent and generally more fragile. Skincare has to change, and this is where using antioxidants becomes even more crucial. Our skin is more vulnerable to the elements, and skincare alone isn’t all we should be aware of. So we stay out of the sun when possible, and use sunscreen when it isn’t, as discoloration and “age spots” are a sure way to look older when we don’t want to.
A good diet is important for a few reasons, as studies have shown that high blood sugar speeds up the formation of wrinkles. Your body metabolizes carbs and sugar by converting them to glucose. Once they’ve been converted, glucose sticks to wrinkle-fighting proteins like collagen and damages them – this is glycation. As New York–based dermatologist Cheryl Karcher, MD, puts it: “Number one, the glucose makes the cells abnormal; and number two, it creates free radicals. So you get a double whammy when it comes to aging.”
So, to recap, antioxidants on the inside and on the outside can help our skin. We know that green tea is a superstar multitasker that interferes with the glycation process, and Lise Watier Sublimessence’s Labrador Tea ups the ante with it’s highly concentrated antioxidants, and using it topically is a terrific way to protect our skin. Cleansing the skin is important as well, and I like to use a glycolic toner weekly to exfoliate dead skin cells. This helps prepare the surface of the skin, like a canvas, which helps any serums, lotions etc penetrate and perform better. I like to use fabric masks to help plump up the skin with moisture as well. All of these steps contribute to younger looking skin.
My verdict regarding Lise Watier Sublimessence is LOVE. It’s effective, feels good and does what it promises.
