I’ve been a long time lover of Skinceuticals. I took these three products on a test drive for August and fell in love all over again.
Skinceuticals Blemish+Age Defense Serum is a miracle liquid that targets sebum production, unclog congested pores and reduces the appearance of spots and blemishes. I wrote about my love for this product here. It also helps on to minimize aging symptoms on the surface – uneven tone and fine lines. Here’s how:
Key Ingredient 1
Dioic acid: The naturally derived vegetable acid proposed to reduce sebum production.
Key Ingredient 2
LHA: A lipo-hydroxy acid, LHA exfoliates the skin, decongests clogged pores and refines the skin’s surface.
Key Ingredient 3
Salicylic acid: This beta-hydroxy acid refines the pores and helps reduce acne.
Skinceuticals Serum 10 Aox+ is new to me, and is frankly already blowing my mind. One of the many amazing things about this product is that it is immediately absorbed and cannot be rubbed off. It also boosts the effectiveness of sunscreens. It contains Vitamin C, which is a hero at reducing uneven skin tone and blotchiness. This particular formulation of vitamin C is designed to work on even the most sensitive of skins, which I have, and it feels soothing and lovely upon application. It helps with acne marks, and doesn’t clog pores.
Key Ingredient 1
10% L-ascorbic acid (vitamin C): Neutralizes damaging free radicals and protects against oxidative stress.
Key Ingredient 2
0.2% Ferulic acid: This plant-based antioxidant neutralizes free radicals.
Combined with the Blemish+Age, the Serum 10 Aox+ makes my skin feel soft and dewy, and unless the environment is very dry, they are all I need on my face. It feels lovely going on, and has an almost immediate effect on skin tone. My face felt glowy after a few days of use.
And now, for the pièce de résistance of my Skinceuticals journey, the Reversatrol B E, Nighttime Antioxidant Concentrate. Everyone knows that our skin goes into repair and rejuvenate mode while we sleep at night. Skinceuticals Reversatrol B E. From the Skinceuticals website:
Resveratrol is a potent polyphenol antioxidant found in grapes, various berries, nuts, and other plant sources.
Over the past 10 years the resveratrol molecule has garnered a reputation as the “longevity molecule.” New studies show that resveratrol has potential in the biology of anti-aging skincare working through a new antioxidant pathway of action.
Due to the natural instability of the resveratrol molecule, it is extremely difficult to formulate in meaningful, stable concentrations.
SkinCeuticals breakthrough formulation features a maximized concentration of 1% pure, stable resveratrol to neutralize free radical damage and repair the visible effects of age-accelerated skin.
As we age, the main issue we have, everywhere, is loss of density. Bones, muscles, fat and skin. So lifestyle, diet and hydration can go a long way to helping keep time at bay, but we need some external help as well. Our facial skin is thin and needs special care to maintain radiance, firmness, elasticity, and density. Skinceuticals B E helps with all of these issues and is proven to increase skin density by 18.9%.
Key Ingredient 1
1% Resveratrol: Derived from knotweed plant.
Key Ingredient 2
0.5% Baicalin: A flavonoid antioxidant derived from roots of Baikal Skullcap.
Key Ingredient 3
1% alpha tocopherol (vitamin E): The most abundant, pure form of vitamin E.
Reversatrol B E is a night time game changer. It is so lovely on the skin and actually imparts an immediate radiance. But the best part happened to me after a couple weeks when I started waking up with glowy skin. Like, “use less makeup and concealer” glowy. It has aided in normalizing my sebum production, which means less shine and more radiance, less pimples and smoother skin.
I am loving this routine, and know that Skinceuticals will always have a place in my skincare regimen.
