I love Consonant. They are a natural beauty company, and their logo “what goes on your body goes in your body” is food for thought, indeed. I love their award winning HydraExtreme Serum – it is one of my favourite moisturizing serums. It delivers lovely deep, plumping moisture, which is always a good thing. The Consonant DHE Mask also offers moisture, while at the same time exfoliating dead skin and detoxifying nasty bacteria. From Consonant’s website:
The DHE mask is a uniquely multitasking, 100% natural mask that has been formulated to Detoxify, Hydrate and Exfoliate.
Mineral-rich Manicouagan Clay, extracted from the site of a 215 million year old asteroid crash in Quebec, detoxifies and clarifies skin with the help of Willow Bark and Tea Tree Extracts.
Potent Cassia Angustifolia, Grape Seed and Olive Oils nourish and deliver optimal hydration making skin plump, firm and beautifully radiant.
A unique blend of Alpha Hydroxy Acid fruit enzymes gently exfoliate, revealing the softer and smoother skin underneath.
The result is brighter, healthier, and younger looking skin from the very first use.
The mask itself has a thin and smooth clay-mask texture, and it spreads easily on the skin – not thick, pasty or mud-like. You can smell the tea tree oil, but it’s not strong, and the mask itself it quite gently scented overall. It dries quickly but doesn’t get that awful face stretching “dry mask” feeling I get with other clay masks. This must be due to the moisturizing qualities in the mask. I love the way it feels while it’s on my face, and I love even more how my skin feels after I use it. I’ve used other fruit enzyme exfoliating masks that have bad smells, or a burning sensation on the skin, and the DHE Mask has neither of those side effects. It feels lovely and soothing, and leaves a lovely glow behind. My skin is misbehaving these days (hormones? weather?) so I plan on using it weekly to help exorcise those nasty pimples. I notice an immediate calming and soothing effect on acne immediately after using it, and my skin does have a lovely moist glow as well.
Verdict? Love. For $45 the Consonant DHE Mask is a facial in a tube. A little goes a long way, so the cost-per-use is more than reasonable. You can buy Consonant on their website and you can find more buying information here.
