Chanel LA Sunrise Collection for spring 2016 is breathtaking. The colours absolutely pop without being jarring or bold. From their website:
Discover a colour collection that reveals the vibrant mood of an endless Los Angeles summer. Flashes of purple, teal and green capture the city’s carefree spirit, while a dreamy spectrum of pink, coral and raspberry shades evoke the California morning skies.
The standout of this collection is the blush, Sunkiss Ribbon. The embossed ribbon pattern is so stunning, it actually looks like real satin ribbons. It’s so lovely that I could barely bring myself to touch it with a brush! I just wanted to gaze at it’s stunning artistry, as is often the case with Chanel and their brilliant limited edition powders. Le sigh.
Behold….

The nail polish is also something else. Wow. Chanel is calling it a “nail gloss” vs a nail polish. And it is glossy! It’s definitely a jelly, yet I got complete coverage in two coats. And wearability? Seriously I have to remove this only because I want to change my polish, not because I have to. Not a chip to be seen and barely any tip wear. Dear Chanel, whatever this nail gloss formula is, please make more! I would compare the wear to a gel. Almost.
Chanel Sunrise Trip is a deep inky purple, that really makes me think of Bic pen ink. In the bottle it looks almost black and I was truly confused as to how on earth an almost black polish was part of this vibrant and happy collection. Fear not. As soon as light hits the bottle, magic happens. Seriously. The colour looks like a living thing. And on nails, it shows as a deep violet purple and I completely adore it. Adore!

My favourite lip colour from the collection is the Rouge Coco Shine in Mighty. I adore that lipstick formulation, as it’s sheer enough to apply without a mirror, and the balm base conditions and softens lips. And this baby/hot pink is perfection!

I love the soft all over glow the Sunkiss Ribbon blush gives, and I even used a bit on my eyes. The rose-y pink and tan shades make my hazel eyes pop. The Chanel Fervent Blue liner is great on the lower lash line for brightening eyes and adding a little colour. Waterproof liners are always my choice as I am the Great Melter of All Makeup.

I adore this collection and if you like what you see, get it now before it’s gone!

Gorgeous nail polish shade! I’m a sucker for Chanel nail polish but I won’t buy it ever again. I splurged one year on a Chanel top and base coat and color and it was one of the worst pricey purchases I’ve ever made. The polish never dries! It’s always tacky and I sit around waiting and wasting time. I’ve read reviews elsewhere that Chanel n/p takes awhile to dry but I don’t have the patience, or the money to throw around, to try another shade and top/base coat out. Glad they work for you. What do you do when using Chanel n/p?
Hi Staci! What a drag! I admit I do not use Chanel base and top coats. I have major success with Perfect Gel Coat as a base, and Essie Gel-Setter as a top coat for the best shine and wear. If I need a quick dry top coat, my favourite is Essie Good-To-Go! It is glossy and I get zero shrinkage. I must say, this Chanel polish is one of the best formulas I have ever used. I admit to being a giant Chanel Le Vernis fan – the colours are always perfect.
Ah! I’ll try those base and top coats and see if that works. Thank you!
Yes, I agree, their shades are great!
