I am super picky about what I use on my face, “foundation” wise. I hate liquid foundations, and I loathe feeling like I am wearing a mask. My skin is also super sensitive, making it a challenge to find a product that does not make my skin break out.
I used to use the Givenchy Prism Powders in the 90s – remember those gorgeous finely milled beauties? They were sort of the geometrical version of Les Meteorites – basically just elegant finely milled pressed powders that add a touch of colour and a luminous glow. So when I saw the new Givenchy Teint Couture Long-Wearing Powder Foundation with a highlighter built in, I had to try it. And you know what? I love it! It mattefies, evens skin tone, and lasts all day. By lasts all day I mean stays put, doesn’t yellow or change colour, does not crease or settle into fine lines and stays matte. I was actually amazed. It is a weighty gorgeous leather compact with silver trim – it feels expensive and looks elegant.
It has a skin tone powder, as well as a soft sweet pale pink highlighter right in the pan, which keeps a rosy glow on the skin, without getting too yellow or appearing flat. Givenchy says:
An exclusive atomization technology guarantees an ultrasoft, ultrafine texture for a made-to-measure second-skin effect with no sensation of excess buildup. The skin beautifying blend, with antioxidant vitamin E and an SPF 10 sunscreen, features a special brightener formulated with pink pigments and incredibly pure pearlescent particles. The result? A perfectly, lastingly unified complexion with a silky, velvety finish and a bare skin feel—and that remains impeccable all day long! Teint Couture Long-Wearing Compact Foundation gives women the skin they’ve dreamed about: smooth and radiant, natural and yet glamorous, enlivened with subtle touches of light.
All true. I’m not a big wearer of foundations but if I love this. It has a “barely there” texture, which I love. I hate a heavily made up feeling or mask on my skin. The added SPF 10+ is also nice, as every little bit of sunscreen helps. Don’t be fooled by the seemingly dark colour. My daughter Emilie, who has a porcelain complexion with freckles, has been wearing the same shade as I do, and she loves it too. Seriously – this stuff has to be worn to be believed. It was a “EUREKA” moment for sure.
You can get Givenchy Teint Couture Long Wearing Powder at Sephora shops/online or on Givenchy’s site for around $60.
