I have become a lover of Butter London since I first got All Hail The Queen. Their polishes have a gorgeous consistency and apply like a dream – practically by themselves. Molly Coddle has become a favourite – I wear it almost every other manicure. This is saying a lot.
I recently spotted the Butter London Sweet Somethings set on the blogs and had. To. Have. It is perfect for the spring/summer wedding season, as the colours are all soft, chic and pretty. The best part is the glitter top coat – not actually glittery, it has white matte bar glitter and different sizes of white hex glitter in a soft sheer pink base. It gives an uncanny lace effect when layered over the other polishes.
The colours:
– Doily – “Something Old” (Light-pink lace overcoat)
– Alabaster Gaze “Something New” (Opaque, pearl-white shimmer)
– Pink Ribbon – “Something Borrowed” (Sheer pale-pink créme)
– Petticoat – “Something Blue” (Periwinkle-blue shimmer)
Love! I haven’t taken a photo of a shade without the Doily overcoat yet. I love it so much I just had to put it on! It is a little thick, as glitter can be. I use Orly Sec’n Dry quick dry multi layer topcoat, but still it’s best to wait just a bit longer than with typical polish. I used one coat of colour on a base of OPI Nail Envy, with one coat of glitter overcoat, and then the Orly.
