I love beauty mists. They are a great way to add moisture and glow to skin, instantly. They feel wonderful and uplifting and have a perfect spa vibe that adds to any beauty routine. Clockwise from top in the photo below:
Vichy Mineralizing Thermal Water is charged in fifteen minerals, restores skin’s pH, soothes and calms irritations and inflammatory reactions. I find using this mist enhances the performance of my moisturisers, and can add instant moisture to dehydrated skin. It comes in little tins that are perfect for the purse.
Sangre de Fruta Neroli Forever is simply wonderful, like soft flowers and water kissing your face until it glow. The fragrance of orange blossom is uplifting and soothes anxiety. Neroli Forever is great for all skin types, especially sensitive or dry skin. I love to spray this one head to toe, because it smells so lovely and makes my skin soft. Love. I wrote about some amazing Sangre de Fruta products, their insanely luxe body creams, here.
Caudalie Beauty Elixir is legendary in the world of facial mists. It seems to be the must-have tool in makeup artist kits everywhere, and is terrific for setting makeup as well as nourishing to skin. They’ve recently updated the sprayer for an amazingly fine soft mist that never sprays too much. It’s perfect for setting layers of makeup, and I find the scent invigorating and helpful with headaches. It’s amazing in the summer, or when travelling. Also – incredible for hot flashes, cooling and calming. From Caudalie:
Inspired by Queen Isabelle of Hungary’s famous elixir of youth, Beauty Elixir is formulated with grape extracts and clarifying ingredients to provide an immediate burst of radiance. The complexion treatment reduces dullness and is infused with toning rosemary, astringent mint, and soothing rose essential oil to prepare your skin for further treatments.
Heritage Store Rose Petals Rosewater is another favourite for head to toe misting. This and Thayers are my favourite rose waters. It smells so soft, rosy and clean, and is like the worlds softest rose scent. I keep a little bottle in my purse and will use rosewater in lieu of hand sanitizer when I’m on the go. Heritage Store has been around for over forty years, and is somehow associated with Edward Cayce, a famous psychic and father of holistic medicine. They’ve used him as inspiration for their conceptual manufacturing. The Rose Petals Rosewater contains two things:
Vor-mag Water (water that has been vortexed and magnetized to raise the energy to a higher vibration that we believe to be more beneficial). and Rosa Damascena (Hydroessential Rose) Flower Oil.
Does magnetising the water make a difference? I don’t know, but maybe that’s why I feel so relaxed when I use it, and why I love it so much. It’s kind of a nifty point of difference, but I’m not convinced of the science, or lack thereof. Luckily, that matters not to me, as I just adore this rosewater. Makes skin dewy and adds much needed moisture. I am a rosewater fanatic, and you can read more of my rosewater loves and how I use it on this tag page.
The Face Shop THE SMIM Radiance Collagen Mist is another nourishing and soothing toner that, like Caudalie Elixir, offers a little more than just floral water. It feels soft and dewy on skin, and is one of those magical K Beauty items that leave skin super moisturised and dewy. It smells softly floral and clean without being too strong. They say:
This handy mist containing double-fermented collagen moisturizes and softens skin and enhances its natural radiance, leaving it looking healthy and supple. The additional fermentation process breaks down the collagen into smaller particles, making it easier to absorb to significantly improve elasticity and provide deep hydration.
I have THE SMIM Essence and Lotion as well and just love this line for imparting moisture and a plum dewy glow. Also great on hands, rubbed into cuticles before bedtime. I mist it, rub it in, then apply a rich hand cream.
I am newly in love with Kiehl’s Cactus Flower & Tibetan Ginseng Hydrating Mist! Have you tried this? You MUST! It’s cooling and soothing, with rich plant ingredients like Cactus Flower which has amino acids, B vitamins and minerals, such as calcium, magnesium and iron. And, it aids skin in moisture retentio, and helps skin feel softer and smoother. Ginseng helps add oxygen to skin, which helps with radiance, and geranium, lavender and rosemary oils help purify skin, and relax the mind. It smells amazing, and my husband loves it too. I think it would be great post -shave.
Do you use beauty mists? What are your favourites? I can’t believe I haven’t tried any of the L’Occitane face mists. I must rectify this.
