Guerlain Mon Precieux Nectar Perfume – Divine

Posted on August 28, 2012August 28, 2012 by Jane Daly

My last visit to the Guerlain Mothership Boutique in Montreal was as wonderful as I’d hoped. The sales associates are always delightful, and full of delicious Guerlain product knowledge. Imagine their happy surprise when I sit back in a comfy chair and basically beg them to lay it all on me. Every tidbit, every ounce…

Guerlain Un Air de Samsara – Perfume Infused With Air And Mystery

Posted on June 21, 2012July 18, 2016 by Jane Daly

One of my favourite heady sandalwood scents is the divine Guerlain Samsara. I prefer the vintage formulations as they contain almost nuclear levels of the precious and now *restricted sandalwood and jasmine. But mostly sandalwood. I have both the eau de toilette and extrait in vintage formulation, and extrait (or parfum) wears closer to the skin and…

Guerlain Terracotta Voile d’Ete – Scent of Sun, Hot Sand and Gold

Posted on June 21, 2012September 1, 2024 by Jane Daly

Oh….leave it to Guerlain to take a feeling, a place, and a time, and to bottle it. Another one of their limited edition perfumes, Guerlain Terracotta L’Eau d’Ete was released in 1999 as part of the infamous Terracotta line. It was allegedly based on a much earlier Guerlain formula from 1910 called Quand vient l’été,…

Guerlain Apres L’Ondee…. Perfume For After The Rain

Posted on June 7, 2012December 30, 2024 by Jane Daly

It’s been raining a lot lately. You know, those heavy, ozonic rain storms.  They only come after intense heat and humidity, when you can barely see a few feet ahead, there is such a deluge. So of course, this brings to mind a perfume, and of course, that perfume is Guerlain Après L’Ondée. Après L’Ondée translates more or…

Video! A Perfume Lesson, Pretty Spring Perfumes, Sheer Red Lippy & Glitter!

Posted on April 17, 2012 by Jane Daly

In which I discuss one of my pet peeves with the perfume industry. It’s not earth shattering or groundbreaking news, but I think it’s important to be able to distinguish fact from fun in the cosmetic industry. Right? Links: The 2 perfumes I mention are Houbigant Quelques Fleurs and Guerlain Jardins de Bagatelle. The sheer…

That Violet Perfume Is So Purple-y

Posted on April 17, 2012October 3, 2024 by Jane Daly

I love violet perfumes. The “love at first sight” flower…fitting. They are soft, simple and innocent. Why innocent? Hm, I’m not sure. Somehow I associate violet with babies or grandmothers, or candy, and all of those things are pretty darn sweet & innocent. They is an airy and fresh feel to violet perfumes that to my thinking…

Smell Sexy & Beautiful

Posted on September 25, 2011April 19, 2013 by Jane Daly

Just dabbing a bit of perfume on before bed…what? Of course I wear my fur to bed, silly! This is a tough category, as we all have our own ways to feel sexy and beautiful, and the scent we choose is no exception to that individuality. I do think there are seasonal sexy scents, some…
