It’s here – it’s finally here! Essie’s Gel Couture polish, which allows you to achieve a gel-like manicure in two easy steps. The colours are as beautiful as Essie’s colours always are, but it’s the formula that really sings. I have not yet tried a sheer Essie Gel Couture, but these opaque shades are the bomb dot com. I used two coats for each on (on a base coat of Essie Millionails Nail Care Treatment) with the Gel Couture Top Coat. You could do three coats of the paler shades to ensure a perfectly opaque nail, but frankly I am too lazy and don’t mind a tiny bit of sheer. Often it’s only visible to me anyways.
They lasted at least 5 days before tip wear, unless I was doing dumb things like trying to remove stickers from my daughters lap top, or pry open a can. Doh. I also had two hands of lovely long nails before these beauties arrived. Then, I broke one right down. Then, I broke another one right down. What came next was sad but necessary, and all nails were nubbin-ed. Le sigh. Anyways, luckily I still love polish on short nails. I actually prefer darker polishes on shorter nails, truth be told.
Have I mentioned the brush? The brush is perfection! It’s like the Dior, YSL and Ciate beautiful brushes that cover the nail in one swipe. Honestly, why can’t everyone make polish brushes like this? Way to simplify the whole process and make doing one’s nails quick and easy. Bravo Essie! These brushes are awesome.
Have you tried Essie Gel Couture yet? I love it. The long wear of gel nails without the nightmare removal. Essie Gel Couture comes off with cotton and normal remover – I used acetone free as that is what I happened to have in my kit.
Essie Gel Couture is sold where Essie is sold, in drugstores and salons.
