I have always been a fan of Dermalogica’s Sheer Tint Moisture. However, I have such an obscene extensive collection of cosmetics that it is easy to try new stuff and try more new stuff until you forget what you loved in the first place.
Dermalogica Sheer Tint Moisture SPF 15:
“Sheer Tint Moisture SPF15 is a convenient, three-in-one product: a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer, a sheer color wash and sun protection. For those who prefer no tint, Sheer Moisture SPF15 also provides hydrating, non-greasy moisture and SPF15 protection with a sheer wash of color. Contains no artificial fragrance or color.”
I love the perfectly sheer matte coverage I get from this. It might be way too sheer for those of you actually to cover your skintone, but I find it just evens out my skin tone, and provides a nice matte finish for powder and concealer to stick to. But, lately I have a new trick. Because I literally only use, like 2 pea sized drops of the Sheer Moisture Tint -max- I wanted a way to make it somehow thinner and easier to apply on my moisture derived (but still oily) winter skin.
I glanced over at my tube of Hydraluron and thought “hmmmm”. So I put a squirt of the Sheer Moisture Tint and the Hydraluron in the palm of my hand, blended them gently, then applied evenly all over my face. Wow! What a great way to make a tinted moisturizer sheer-er, because I like them that way, while still evening out my skin tone. It looks like “no make up” make up, and has a perfectly dewy yet not greasy at all finish. It also makes my skin feel less oily while not looking overly dry. You could call it a perfect matte base, with no silicones or greasy pore blocking stuff. There is an SPF15, which isn’t spectacular, but is better than nothing. Add your own sunscreen under or over, if you wish.
Verdict? Success! Love this and am doing it every day! Do you have any beauty magic combinations that no one else has thought of? Share! I’d love to know!
Dermalogica Sheer Moisture Tint is available at select salons, and online for around $50. A little goes a looong way so the cost per use is actually not that bad. Also, it does not break me out, and it performs. Hydraluron is sold at drugstores for around $29.
UPDATE: Dermalogica informs me that they are reformulating their Sheer Moisture Tint! So stay tuned this spring…knowing Dermalogica it will only get better!
