Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire is back again in a most delightful and delicious incarnation – the Eau de Parfum Intense. This perfume is a head-turner and guaranteed to elicit comments like “mmmmm who smells so good?”. I’ve loved all of the La Petite Robe Noire perfumes, but this Eau de Parfum Intense is truly delicious. The sweetness stays close to the skin and is never too strong or cloying. Mind you, with a perfume that has “Intense” in the name, judicious application is key. Never overspray – it’s easy to add more perfume, but much harder to get it off if you are wearing too much.

The cotton candy (candyfloss) is woven together with rose and a touch of vanilla right off the top, immediately making my mouth water a bit. So yummy! There is a soft fruity berry and bergamot heart that teases the nose as the perfume starts to dry down. The delicious base notes are the softest whisper of white musk and woody sandalwood and patchouli so smooth, it can only be Guerlain. This is what trails behind, leaving deliciously irresistible perfumed sillage. Be prepared for proclamations of “omg you smell amazing”.

This is a fun summer night perfume that will transition beautifully into cooler weather.
