Chanel Fortissimo Is My New Favourite Blue Nail Polish

Chanel Fortissimo Is My New Favourite Blue Nail Polish

I recently had a hankering for a dark navy blue polish with shimmer – yes, my hankerings are *that* specific. An,d while I love Chanel Blue Satin, it somehow felt too dark for summer. It’s a rather awesome “too blue to be black, too black to be blue” shade and I love it, but I wanted something bluer. I was obsessed with Tom Ford Indigo Night for awhile, but I couldn’t track down a bottle and sort of let it go.

Chanel Fortissimo nail polish bottle

Oh mah gah, Chanel, you did it again!

Then, I saw the Chanel Blue Notes de Chanel Summer 2015 collection. Fortissimo just sitting there, being the perfect blue and calling to me with it’s Chanel Nail Polish Siren Song. The lyrics are something like “open your wallet, yeah yeah, no, open it a bit wider, now take it all out” or along those lines. So, Fortissimo came home with me and it scratched my itch perfectly. I took a photo of the bottle with a sun beam on it above – the colour is so gorgeous and that shimmer! Oh my! There is no mistaking this for a black polish. That blue is simply perfect.

Trind Nail Balsam Should Totally Be A Cult Item

Trind Nail Balsam Should Totally Be A Cult Item

I first read about Trind Nail Balsam ($20 CAD) a few years ago. I was reading one of my favourite nail blogs, Loodie Loodie Loodie. She is wealth of information about the physiology of nails, and what is good for them. In addition to proper filing techniques,  Trind Nail Balsam is one of her favourite items for nail health, and for good reason. I remember at the time wanting Trind Nail Balsam really badly but could not find any salons locally that carried it, which made me want it more, of course. Scarcity value has that effect on me, and most often with beauty products.

Nail-Balsam

Trind is a Dutch nail product company that has been around for over twenty five years. They have been sold mostly in Europe and in select salons, so it hasn’t been readily available to North Americans until recently. And even then, Trind one of those niche brands that seems to excel simply by word of mouth and it’s reputation, which has clearly been great. Trind Nail Balsam is formulated to be an exact copy of natural nail moisture, which I’ve learned is very important to maintaining healthy nails. Dry nails peel, crack and can never seem to grow. Trind Nail Balsam contains d-Panthenol, Phytantriol, and Biotin to mimic the moisture in our nails and which provides continuous hydration. It’s also oil-free so after you apply it, and rub it in, it absorbs instantly, and you can apply polish right on top. This goes against everything we’ve been taught – strip that nail dry before putting on polish. Acetone, alcohol, whatever it takes to dry out that nail so the polish sticks! Yikes!

Trind Nail Balsam dalybeauty

Since I’ve been using Trind Nail Balsam my nails are strong, flexible and healthy. They don’t split or peel anymore, and my manicures last forever! If you saw my stash of nail products you would understand it when I say I’ve tried everything. It is The Best Nail Health Product I have ever used. If it isn’t a cult “must-have” nail product now, it will be soon. Try it!

I also LOVE Trind polishes ($13 CAD). They are permanent loves in my collection. The gorgeous colours are also full of strengthening ingredients. The purple Luscious Lavender is one of the prettiest frosty shades and applied like a dream. The coral Mighty Macaron is simply one of the prettiest summer shades ever.

WIN IT: Stay Gorgeous With A Summer Festival Survival Kit!

WIN IT: Stay Gorgeous With A Summer Festival Survival Kit!

Johnson & Johnson

Let’s talk about festivals shall we? Unless you are living under a rock, you know that a big part of summer is festivals! They are going on all summer, in many cities, and feature everything from the giant headliners at Osheaga and Coachella, to awesome local talent at smaller shows. I’ve got a list of some amazing products to get you through festival season feeling clean, refreshed and protected.

If you have feet and wear shoes, you need to get yourself some Polysporin Blister Pads because they are lifesavers. I’m prone to blisters and hot spots on my feet, mostly because of my aversion to socks, and keep a little pack of these babies in my purse. But sometimes those new sandals or sneakers rub us the wrong way – literally. They take up no space in your bag but will be the biggest lifesaver if a blister or hot spot flares up while you dance on the grass.

JJ Festival Survival Kit Goodies

Then, I was shopping for my daughter’s summer away as a counsellor at camp and I grabbed a Benadryl Itch Stick for any bug emergencies that might occur. Most music festivals take place in grassy park areas with trees, therefore there will be bugs! Be prepared! Toss the stick in your purse for instant itch relief!

And while you are getting gorgeous before heading out, don’t forget sunscreen! A gentle waterproof formula is a great idea, especially if you are looking at a long day. Aveeno Protect + Hydrate SPF30 lotion is moisturizes skin while it protects it from sunburn. It’s waterproof too. Slather this on exposed skin! I also adore the Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer SPF15 – it protects your skin, while adding a gorgeous natural glow with light diffusing ingredients. Less makeup is definitely more outside in the summer.

There will be lots of delicious food and drinks on the menu while you dance the day and night away. Toss some Listerine Pocket Paks in your bag just in case you meet that special someone. Festivals are loud, so you have to get close to be heard and don’t want to exhale your tacos and poutine on that hottie you’re chatting up. The cinnamon ones are my favourites because they make me think of red candy hearts, which I love.

Rather than piling on more powder as the day goes on, toss some CLEAN & CLEAR Oil Absorbing Sheets into your bag. Seriously, these blotting papers are amazing and have been staples with my daughters and myself since they were first launched. They remove oil without adding anything, and oily pores are no match for these miraculous sheets. Thinking ahead: you will probably be exhausted when you get home. My tired girl routine involves keeping makeup remover wipes in my bedside table drawer so I can lie in bed while I wash my face. I LOVE the CLEAN & CLEAR Night Relaxing All In One wipes, they get every last drop of makeup and their soft gentle scent is soothing at bedtime. You could even toss them in your bag in case you need to refresh during the day. I use makeup wipes on my hands, on the back of my neck if I’m hot and even in my pits. Seriously – if they can take off makeup they can handle a little sweat!

Obsessing Over Penetration: Deciem Hylamide Gets Under Your Skin In The Best Way

Obsessing Over Penetration: Deciem Hylamide Gets Under Your Skin In The Best Way

If you haven’t tried the DECIEM Hylamide, and you have skin, dude. Get on it! The eye and facial serums in the DECIEM line are blowing my mind. And I’m not the only beauty blogger who is loving this stuff. We get pretty jaded, what with the LATEST! NEWEST! BECAUSE SCIENCE! stuff that arrives for review on a regular basis. Yes of course there are many great lines out there, and I’ve fallen hard for a few products that are now staples in my skincare. DECIEM Hylamide is all about every layer of your skin. Penetration, man. It’s what our skin needs. DECIEM is a really cool Canadian company that is all about science. They have a sense of humour, which a quick peruse of their site quickly shows. The founder, Brandon Truaxe, was one of the brains behind one of my favourite simple skincare saviours, Indeed Labs Hydraluron serum.

“Your skin has more layers than you know. You’re probably ignoring most of them”

Deciem Hylamide

We’ve heard a lot of skincare buzz words in the past several years, ingredients, ingredients and more ingredients! A lot of us seek out and want certain ingredients because of buzz. Some are deserving of the hype and praise, and some not so much. Things like hyaluronic acid are good things. Things like collagen, stem cells and plasma (what. even.) sound great, and I suppose some work, but for the most part these things don’t perform the miracles we are led to expect. Most of these ingredients are in suspended in molecules that are way too large to penetrate the dermis, or too small to treat the areas they are targeting. We kind of know this, right? But we are forever hopeful, if not in vain.

Deciem Hylamide SubQ Anti-Age Serum SubQ Eyes

So while most skincare brands focus on simply “penetration”, DECIEM Hylamide is focused on controlled depth of penetration, aimed at targeting multiple skin/dermis depths and functions in single treatment regimens. Talk about keeping it simple. Hylamide encapsulates it’s active ingredients in varying sizes, ensuring that the right molecule makes it to the right place. The Hylamide SubQ serums come in little glass bottles with glass droppers – a very lab and science packaging. MY ONLY GRIPE: I am not a fan of this type of packging, having accidentally knocked over several bottles and spread hundreds of dollars of serums on my bathroom counter over the years.  I’m not sure how it could be improved on, but I do wish a more stable and secure package was possible.

Hylamide SubQ Anti-Age Serum ($38 CAD for 30ml – yeah, that’s right, THIRTY EIGHT DOLLARS) is at the top of my skincare regiment, and I NEVER EVER EVER want to be without this. Oh, mama! My sensitive skin breaks out if I look at it wrong. It’s got oil! Pores! Fine lines! You name it. Hylamide SubQ Anti-Age serum and it’s lovely molecules offer surface hydration, below-surface hydration, treatment for fine lines, wrinkles, dynamic lines, sagginess and textural irregularities. My beautiful friend Tracy over at Beauty Reflections said it best on Twitter a few weeks ago “Hylamide has made my skin as smooth as glass”. Friends – this is a true statement. When I first tried it, I thought it seemed like any other hyaluronic serum I’ve tried. Lovely, light, simple, and moisturizing. Oh no, no, no. This is no simple serum. My pores are tighter, my skin is smoother. When I have a breakout (damn you, Laura Mercier powder foundation) Hylamide soothes my face and helps it heal. It has a ton of awesome ingredients you can read about here.

The Hylamide SubQ Eyes ($35 for 15ml) serum is just as amazing. One teeny tiny drop covers my orbital area. The skin around the eyes is four times thinner than that of the rest of the body. SubQ Eyes is a concentrated strength, clinical serum that uses Deciem advanced technology and ingredients to target multiple aspects of under-eye ageing at once. SubQ Eyes also helps correct puffiness and dark circles. I was amazed the first time I used it. It is light – a serum – and feels silky and smooth on the skin. Yet, my eye area stays dewy and hydrated all day. Trust me on this, I’m a crazy lady about hydrated skin.

Is my Deciem Hylamide glow blinding you with science?

Is my Deciem Hylamide glow blinding you with science?

To sum up, I love Hylamide SubQ Anti-Age and SubQ Eyes so much, I want to marry them. These serums have earned a permanent place in my skincare and beauty routine. The products deliver, and the price is beyond reasonable. This is is accessible skincare science for everyone. Boys and girls, obvies. Verdict? LOVE.

Good Things: More Sunscreens for Sexy Glowing Skin

Good Things: More Sunscreens for Sexy Glowing Skin

It’s indeed a good sign that my posts on sunscreen are so popular. We all know now that we have to protect our skin. This morning I did a segment on CTV Ottawa and mentioned some terrific sunscreen options. Here is a link to the segment:

CTV Ottawa Morning Live: Sunscreen For Sexy Skin

And here are the products I mentioned:

CTV Ottawa Morning Sunscreen Jane Daly

Above, from left:

Jane Iredale: I adore the Jane Iredale line of beauty, the “skincare cosmetics”. Above I have the Powder-Me SPF 30 Dry Sunscreen in Translucent, Golden and Tanned, a dry sunscreen powder that is chemical free, and soothing on skin. I also featured my absolute favourite lip balm with sunscreen, the Jane Iredale Lip Drink, which comes in a clear version (great for guys too!) as well as some gorgeous tinted ones- the YLBB* shade, Buff, and a terrific wine shade, Crush. Jane Iredale is sold at select salons and spas.

Eminence Organics: The Eminence Organics Sun Defense Minerals powder brush is another powder sunscreen with a brush. It is also available in a translucent formula, as well as five other complimentary shades. There is no wonder that this is a cult favourite. I keep it in my purse – not only does it keep shine at bay, but it protects the skin without clogging pores. It also nourishes the skin with vitamins A & E. Yeah, baby! If you want moisturized skin that is also protected, then you must try Eminence Tropical Vanilla Body SPF 32. This sunscreen not only smells wonderful (vanilla is known to be calming as well!), but has a shea butter base to condition and moisturize your skin, while protecting it with zinc oxide. Eminence Organics is sold at select salons and spas.

Consonant: Well, they don’t call Consonant SPF 50 The Perfect Sunscreen for nothing! This multi-tasker protects skin while adding a lovely glow and evening out skin tone with a soft mica tint. When paired with a good antioxidant serum, the skin is further protected from UV induced inflammation and stress**. The two products complement each other, resulting in superior photoprotection. Consonant products are sold at their flagship store and boutique in Toronto, and other retailers noted here.

Vichy: The Vichy Idéal Soleil line is brilliant, and a staple in my summer skincare arsenal. The Vichy Invisible Mist SPF 30 & 50 are gentle, soothing and effective. They never irritate my skin, they feel great and I have never ever burnt while using them. Their facial sunscreens are fantastic. The Ultra Fluide SPF 30 is super light and fast drying, and the Ultra-Light Lotion SPF 50 is just as light and perfect for oily and/or sensitive skin. It’s almost invisible on the skin and make perfect bases for makeup, so you can wear them all day, any day, not just at the beach. The SPF 60 Ultra-Protective Stick is perfect for the outdoor athlete. It’s great for sensitive and delicate skin like noses, around the eyes, lips and on ears. My husband keeps one in his golf bag at all times….now if only I could be sure he uses it. Vichy products are available at drugstores.

Nivea Q10 Plus Anti-Wrinkle Pearls Serum – Gorgeous Technology

Nivea Q10 Plus Anti-Wrinkle Pearls Serum – Gorgeous Technology

I have been a lover of Nivea forever. I have loved their Q10plus line since it was launched – every Q10plus product is lovely and does what it promises. The Nivea Q10plus Body Lotion is always in my body lotion arsenal. I try many but that one always sticks around. Their Firming Q10plus Cellulite Gel never fails to make my legs look great in shorts, and it feels and smells wonderful.

Nivea-Q10-Plus-Serum-Pearls-lansare-martie-2015

From my experience hyaluronic acid is terrific for adding moisture back into the skin and it adds a plump dewy glow that my skin needs. When I saw the Nivea Q10 Plus Anti-Wrinkle Serum Pearls, I knew I had to give it a try.

Ok so let’s revisit Q10. Q10 is a co-enzyme found naturally in our skin. As we age, those levels decrease, leaving skin with less energy to rejuvenate. Over time this may lead to appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and a general lack of radiance. I would have never believed it until the Nivea Q10plus body lotion came along, and I noticed it made my skin look amazing. According to Nivea, the Q10 Pearls formula “contains the highest concentration of energy coenzyme Q10 within the NIVEA Q10plus range for pure anti-wrinkle power”. The formula is freshly activated each time it’s dispensed from a pump bottle. The little Q10plus pearls burst and then mix with the surrounding moisturizing gel to blend into a silky serum. And I love using it under my Jane Iredale Pure Pressed Powder Foundation as the Q10plus Pearls make my skin the perfect canvas for makeup.

Nivea Q10 Anti Aging Pearls Serum

The Q10plus Serum Pearls feels gentle and soothing on my skin, and after using it for two weeks my skin has a lovely glow, even when I go makeup free. Here I am – makeup free – before applying my sunscreen mineral powder:

jane daly dalybeauty Nivea Q10 Pearls Serum

I use a night cream before bedtime to keep my skin tone even, and Nivea Q10plus Anti-Wrinkle Serum Pearls in the morning after cleansing. Verdict: love! Nivea Q10plus Anti-Wrinkle Serum Pearls is available where Nivea is sold for around $20.

Currently Loving: 70s Smooth Rock, Skincare You Drink & The Perfume of Summer Days

Music: I have really been loving my smooth seventies rock playlists – “Yacht Rock” on Songza is a favourite, but yes I have my own as well. Now, if I can only figure out the latest iTunes iteration and My Music, hopefully I can find them. I’m not sure why, but this music just feels like lazy, sunny summer days to me. The days when endless days summer seemed to lie ahead, and time went by so slowly. Ahhh, *saudade….

TV Marathon: Thank the TV gods for Netflix! My favourite marathon recently is the Danish TV show Rita, about a Danish school teacher. From IMDB: “Following the life of a very outspoken and rebellious woman, Rita is a school teacher who is competent in the classroom, but seems to need a teacher of her own, when it comes to her personal life”. I LOVE Rita, and all of the characters are just so great. There is something about the whole Danish vibe that reminds me of Canada (the weather? Socialism? LOL) and I just can’t get enough of it. Season 3 was just released and I binge watched that sucker like a boss.

Rita Netflix Danish TV

Food: Bowls, bowls and more bowls. Seriously, what could be better than all the yummy ingredients you love stirred up in a bowl? Better yet, make them healthy and flavourful? It’s like a salad/soup/main course sandwich. All the good stuff. In a bowl. I’m sure this is actually not even close to being new, but it’s become A Thing at the healthier restaurants and assorted eateries and I am addicted. GIMME A BOWL OF ALL THE GOOD STUFF PLEASE.

Pure Kitchen Ottawa Noodle Fantastic Bowl

Pure Kitchen Ottawa Fantastic Bowl: maple tamari tofu steaks / broccoli / red pepper / napa / bok choy / scallions / cilantro / roasted peanuts / spicy peanut sauce / rice noodles

Wellness: Internal skincare. Yeah, that’s right. Supplemental beauty that you eat. Not a million miles away from taking biotin for nails and hair, right? Canada’s coolest cutting edge skincare company, DECIEM, has this line called Fountain. I am pretty sure the creator has a time machine and has travelled to the future to bring us miracles. So far I am loving the Hyaluronic Molecule, “a concentrated beauty supplement with Hyaluronic Acid to keep your skin looking plump and happy from within”.

DECIEM Fountain Hyaluronic Molecule

Skincare: DECIEM Hylamide and Eminence Eight Greens. My aging, hormonal acne-prone skin has never been happier. Never. Detailed reviews to come, but in the meantime, if you suffer from any of the same skin care woes as I do, go get these things. Now.

Eminence Eight Greens Hylamide

Makeup: The most delicious bronzer in my collection, Guerlain Terracotta Terre d’ Été Tan Enhancing Bronzer. This gorgeous limited edition bronzer is dusted in gold, and smells like heavenly tiare. It is one of the loveliest sheer bronzers I have ever used, and is super easy to build up. It comes in a giant pancake sized compact, so I feel free to dust that baby from head to toe. Looks gorgeous and summery on moisturized arms and legs. LOVE. Get it while you still can!

Guerlain Terracotta Terre d'Été

Perfume: If you know me, you know I adore green perfumes. I love the fresh, earthy fragrances of green things – grass, leaves, stems, mosses….They take me to happy summer place, with daydreams of freshly cut lawns on hot summer weekends, walking through dark, cool green forests and pathways to beaches, mossy stones in mountain streams, hiding in hedgerows and picnics in meadows. The delicious greens in Hampton Sun Privet Bloom has been like a summer memory in a bottle for me lately. “Named after the beautiful privet privacy hedges synonymous with the Hamptons lifestyle, Hampton Sun’s Privet Bloom Fragrance is a delicate scent that captivates the senses and captures the Hamptons’ pure, natural elegance. This destination fragrance is reminiscent of a blooming privet blossom tousled into a stunning bouquet of delicate aromas. Privet Bloom encompasses the essence of nature’s beauty and transcends the seasons – making it the perfect fragrance all year round.” Truth in adverstising, I must say. LOVE.

Hampton Sun Privet Bloom

*saudade:  A deep emotional state of nostalgic or profound melancholic longing for an absent something or someone that one loves. Moreover, it often carries a repressed knowledge that the object of longing might never return.

The Best Sunscreens For Sexy Skin: Hampton Sun, Vichy, Bioderma, Consonant & Jane Iredale

The Best Sunscreens For Sexy Skin: Hampton Sun, Vichy, Bioderma, Consonant & Jane Iredale

Why “sexy” you say? Because sunburnt skin is so NOT sexy, but soft, warm and glowy skin is. It makes you feel good, and feeling good is ninety nine percent of being sexy. I abused the sun in my youth, wearing the likes of baby oil and the ubiquitous Hawaiian Tropic Dark Tanning Oil – yikes! Well, no more. I’ve discovered that sporting lots of sunscreen while I spend the day outside yields a glowing complexion. I also love a good umbrella, for shelter from the sun. Those sunbeams are bouncing off everything! Even sitting under an umbrella, wearing sunscreen, I still get a bit of colour. Here are my favourites:

Best Facial Sunscreens: I could not choose just one, as I have a few in my skincare arsenal that I adore.

Consonant The Perfect Sunscreen

Consonant The Perfect Sunscreen SPF 30: this one is terrific, for so many reasons. Consonant skincare is perfect for all skin types – dry, oily, sensitive, acne prone etc. I adore this facial sunscreen as not only does it protect my face, but it has a soft tint that makes my complexion look terrific, even makeup free by the pool or at the beach. It lasts and lasts, doesn’t clog pores, and does what it says. It also works as a terrific base for your makeup, if you want to use it that way. Fragrance free, for sensitive types.

Jane Iredale Powder Me SPF

Jane Iredale Powder Me SPF 30 Dry Sunscreen: Seriously genius stuff. Using the sponge applicator is a bit tricky, and takes some getting used to, so one doesn’t apply too much. I got the Golden shade, and if I over apply, the colour looks too dark. I tend to put this on, then use a clean large soft brush to blend it. That said, as soon as it’s blended it, it gives a sunny bronzed look that stays put while protecting the skin. The portability is a plus, as is the “no make up make up” flawless skin it gives. My Jane Iredale Pure Pressed Base is  SPF 20, and is something I wear every day. I love the Powder Me SPF but suspect I would get the Translucent shade next time.

Hampton Sun Continuous Mist SPF 55

Best Luxury Sunscreen: Hampton Sun Continuous Mist SPF 55

Hampton Sun’s SPF 55 continuous mist sunscreen offers the highest quality of sun protection in a unique, oil-free formula that protects for up to 80 minutes between applications. The formula is filled with skin-nourishing ingredients that help hydrate skin while the UVA/UVB broad spectrum sunscreens protect. SPF 55 Continuous Mist has a light, silky feel that absorbs instantly with no sticky film – I LOVE the way it feels on my skin. And, it has a hint of Hampton Sun’s signature Privet Bloom scent for the perfect touch of sophistication. Honestly, I want to scent my life with Privet Bloom.

Vichy SPF 50

Best Sunscreen For Sensitive Skin: Vichy Invisible Mist SPF 50

Vichy Invisible Mist SPF 50 sunscreen has be tested under dermatological control on 100% sensitive skin. Hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic and paraben free. The Invisible Mist is also integrated with the Vichy Thermal Spa Water which is known to fortify, soothe, and regenerate the skin. It has a very soft scent, and sprays evenly and easily, without clogging pores or causing any irritation. This is especially helpful when swimming in salty or chlorinated water, when one’s skin is more apt to be irritated. I love Vichy sunscreens. We have sensitive skin in this household, and I can’t imagine being without it.

bioderma_photoderm_spf-40_spray-web_0

Best Moisturizing Sunscreen: Bioderma Photoderm Spray SPF 40:

In addition to its surface UVA/UVB protective activity (filtering systems), Photoderm Spray SPF 40 offers real internal biological protection: Cellular Bioprotection®. This exclusive patent preserves and stimulates the skin’s defences (immunity) during sun exposure. The first thing I noticed about this sunscreen when I first applied it was how it made my skin look and feel. It is a lotion spray, and so it needs to be rubbed into the skin and blended after spritzing. It also smells wonderful, with a fresh and airy scent. I just love how it makes my skin feel soft and moisturized, which is especially great after swimming.

Hampton Sun SPF 15 Gel

Best Smelling Light Sunscreen for Late Day And/Or Occasional Sun: Hampton Sun SPF 15 Gel

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this product. Yes, I know it is only SPF 15. But, this sunscreen smells so good, and makes your skin so glowy and healthy looking, it is perfect for legs, or any exposed skin that may not be out in the sun for long. I call it my late afternoon/evening party sunscreen. It is a spray gel, and it is softly scented with Privet Bloom, as are all the sun products in the Hampton Sun line. Seriously, somebody in Canada has to bring this line in. It is my favourite sun care line.

The Best Waves On The Beach Are In My Hair

The Best Waves On The Beach Are In My Hair

Gaaah I have fallen in love with a hair product! Like, love. Seriously, there is really nothing I don’t love about the Cake Beauty line. Their Satin Sugar Dry Shampoo is my favourite dry shampoo spray because it works, and smells wonderfully yummy without being strong or cloying. I have fallen in love with Cake Beauty Inca Oil but that’s coming up in another post.

Marilyn Monroe beachy hair

I’ve tried every single many beach wave sprays, and I’ve loved a few. Some have been limited summer editions, and some have been cult favourites. Most are way too salty and sticky and turn my hair into a matted mess. I usually get my best undone beachy waves when I use a curl cream mixed with a hair oil, and then sleep on it for a few days. Seriously. I was cautiously optimistic when I tried the newest Cake Beauty offering, Satin Sugar Texturizing Beach Spray.

Jane daly second day hair waves

Hair misted with Sugar Satin Beach Spray, then twisted a few waves in with curling wand. Slept on, not brushed #lazy

On first spray, it smells simply delicious, but not strong or overpowering at all. It’s a soft sweet lemony scent, and is positively yummy. Satin Sugar Beach Spray has only a pinch of salt, and uses sugar for it’s texturizing. Sugar is a natural humectant that keeps hair hydrated and soft, not sticky, crunchy and dry (often the result of heavily salted sprays). It gives a gorgeous soft, tousled look which is also touchable. It’s the best way to get “second day hair” and to have soft waves. It adds perfect waves on it’s own, and holds onto styled waves too.

jane daly dalybeauty beachy hair

I applied Cake Satin Sugar Beach Spray to wet hair, combed through & air air-dried, no styling.

Cake Beauty Satin Sugar Texturizing Beach Spray is $24 CAN for 120ml, and will be available at Murale July 2015. I’m thinking it will also be available on the Cake Beauty website as well.
